India in a Worldly View

I have met a few foreigners Many NRI's too, Most of them tell me, With sadness in their eyes I would like to see India In this life or my next A vibrant nation it is to them, Elephants, horses jungles and monkeys, It's not just a fusion of culture, ideas and technology It's way more than that You just gotta get inside its shoes and see, A beautiful view - a definitive outcome, People around in a hurry, It's an tide of people moving about to change the world There's not a moment to be wasted It's a wave washing over, Move away Else you will be captured in its crest It's a boiling cup of a thought process you see It's a religion of ideas to me I look around in ecstasy, What else can I find but, India around me!!

A Doubtful Mind

I stared around me in wonder, A ghostly world it was to many For many- a dream come true For me a question always to wonder A thought to ponder The New World it was called by many, I was here now  And my own satire caught up with me  I stared in relentless awe At the wondrous city this was A true worshipper I was to this place But more I thought the more I questioned My impulsive decision to take this path I spent many evenings looking at the various people around me They were so different and so many A questionable decision I might say But a decision nevertheless  I walked around the open streets searching for somebody like me  I walked around in despair As I saw the melting pot around me  My job was good Education too, Then why I wondered Was I thinking too much It was just a culture I had left behind It was just my family I had left behind I boarded the first flight back Before I could think too much In an everlasting attempt to hold the future I had thrown away all my past

Death

Death is a widely varying topic,     Sometimes it is a destination at last         Sometimes removal of pain Sometimes it's a country's flag you want to be wrapped around in I have not seen death so close till now But a recent event has caused a change in thought, Never-before-seen memories flood my mind, As I make a desperate attempt to stop time, In a mad race to save a life. Death is widely accepted by many as destiny Fighting it no more than wasting a penny, And stopping it a false show of immortality All they want is someone to be around, Someone to love, Someone with a minute to spare To watch him take his last breath Some die with rifles in hand In a desperate attempt to serve a nation, Full of patriotism and pride, Guns in hand they fight proudly, Death accepted long back, When they joined this art.

Steve Jobs: Perfectionism - An Art

Image
Walter Isaacson, the author of Steve Jobs received a call in 2004, Walter was a journalist and throughout the years Apple had made use of his influence for advertisements or when they were launching new products. Steve Jobs told him he wanted to walk so that they could talk. The "walk" here refers to a Jobs idea of a serious conversation. This walk has become a legend in the semiconductor sector - a fabled start. Jobs told him he wanted Walter to write a biography on him. Walter had written about Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin. Jobs unexpectedly declared that he was next (get it ?) in the line of theses legends. With utmost confidence he declared himself worthy of this prize.  Only after 5 years did Walter understand that cancer had pushed Steve Jobs to make inconceivable decisions that pushed him to greater heights. That was the confidence that made Steve Jobs this great heroic figure. He was not an engineer. No. That was Steve Wozniak. Steve Jobs was a b

Malala - She Can't Be Stopped Now

Image
Malala Yousafzai places vital importance on the meaning of her name - "grief-stricken". Undying in her quest to cross the limitations placed by her name, her gender and her religion she tells a story - a story that was applauded by many. In the book I Am Malala she first tries to convince us about SWAT Valley, Pakistan. Her home covered by terrorists and rifles to the rest of the world is an everlasting beauty for her- embroidered by mountains and forests inadvertently making it the centre of her life. The juxtaposition of the rifles in a picturesque valley - a weird contrast I must say ! Malala's father molded her thoughts based on his ideas as he was against the discrimination of women in Pakistan. But in a country filled with prejudiced laws there was not much one man could do. Ironically it was a woman, Malala, who proved that wrong. Malala also talks about her background - her father who was an educator and her life before the earthquake- an earthquake that rendered
