High school evaluation in a different perspective

High school evaluation ; a different perspective

Isn't it more logical to make the colleges admissions holistic rather than purely based on entrance exams and to some extent the marks in school ? With this the nation can produce more abstract thinkers, people who will innovate and think outside the box.

The idea of good colleges in India is to accept only the best and brightest of the nation with relation to their marks and thinking capabilities. Shouldn't universities accept people holistically, that is, looking at what they achieved as a person. These people would have explored all the difficulties in life and would be ready to make the world a better place. They would be from different backgrounds and would have their own thought structure formed by different experiences. The varied challenges faced by them will endeavour them to come up with unthinkable solutions to the most sought-out questions.

This nation needs people who have achieved success in life not only in academics.

The most common question here would be- What about the underprivileged class in India who only have enough money to attend schools ? For this problem to be solved, the government should build centres to brief children about the holistic admission process (SOPs, essays etc). Now, everybody will have equal opportunities regardless of the varied walks of life they are from and can achieve success.

The main idea of this change is to inspire people to become better with something they can pursue and aspire instead of passing exams as people with a passion can achieve more compared to those mugging up chapters for that extra mark or those straining themselves till the end so that they can achieve that 5 on the AP test.

India doesn't need know-it-alls for prosperity. We need smart people with an aim and a cause to work for it.

Think about it. Are you really working for your passion or just slogging away in your office for the monthly salary. Do you even love what you are doing. Is it your passion ? Maybe you endeavoured for something else. Just that small amount of motivation or encouragement could have changed your choice and you might have gone into that field. And even loved every second of work instead of choosing engineering just because it was called ' The next big thing' by your parents.

Pause for a second. And think. Wouldn't it be better if the nation had people passionate about their job. Excited to solve problems in their job and waiting for the Monday that we all hate. With talent, passion and purpose inside them they could cross the heights of success.

Till now success has only been achieved by those with passion. What if everyone had that push to work for the better ? There wouldn't be any limit to the growth and prosperity in India !!

All the geniuses who would have gotten into brilliant colleges in India would have only brains but no motivation to bring about a change for the better. Just this small change could change our society.

This is the change we all need. And we need to work towards this world. One where we do what we want and achieve success with talent, passion and purpose.
