Greetings from the City of Canals

Greetings from the City of Canals A blur of people rushing about in a hurry greeted me as I reached the Venezia Santa Lucia train station. Initially it was just the constant flow of crowd and me being pushed towards the exit. I reached. the steps down to the water taxi station and looked at the magnificent view here- the Grand Canals flowing water and the water taxi station. The Canal had several gondolas but it was not crowded there, it just reflected the daily use of water transport here and formed the perfect first view for a grand city like Venice. I was greeted by a drizzle - it seemed like the waters of the canal were absorbing the droplets of water pushing it along with the flow here yet calm and peaceful, airy like. \ It was late afternoon by the time we reached there. We had booked a gondola ride at 5 and quickly rushed towards a square where the guide would take us for the ride. The walk there was beautiful - the Salizadde pavement was wet -not

A Walk Through Rome

A Walk Through Rome Rome! This word reverberated in my head a few times before the city engulfed me and I came back to stark reality. Endless rows of BMWs, Porsche's, Ferrari's you name it; were spread across the parking lot of the Leonardo da Vinci airport. The excitement took over my natural conscience and I absentmindedly sat in the taxi along with my parents as I began a trip through Europe. The city was pretty crowded, dirty but still it had certain aspects that distorted your focus from the dirtiness. It was a classic Europe city with wide streets and old architecture. The city was brimming with energy, its lifeline being the tourists coming here to understand the Roman Empire.  Blue unpolluted skies formed a sheet above and the fact that the Sun set at 8:30 pushed the tourists to move around more. We reached there at about 4:00. Due to the jet lag we were too drained to go out much. We went for a stroll  and tried out the world-famous Gelato at a clo

A New Beginning... A New Era

A New Beginning... A New Era After a new-before-seen star   the RCB fans are in fantasizing about the trophy already- rightfully so. RCB fans rarely do get such an opportunity. It looks like 1 player has changed the fortunes of RCB- perhaps forever. The big-show Maxwell after being bought for a whooping 14.25 crores has made 2 half centuries- 2 match winning knocks after a horrific run from 2015 to 2020. Inspite of his dreadful form in IPL his price did not change which just goes to show the importance of a middle order power hitter. And Maxwell true to his price and confirming the trust of RCB has been invaluable. Perhaps it is the fact that he played at No.3 right after the power play against the spinners where his strike rate marginally increases.  Hoping his and the team's form continues throughout the IPL and if Maxwell can celebrate his first year with the trophy.
